With so many folks having plans disrupted this week, maybe someone in management made the decision that the *airplane* that was to be used for your first segment would be put to better use somewhere else in the system for a few days. Not the lack of de-icer, but lack of available aircraft.
Again, just a guess.
Agree. Completely possible. But hence my beef with AA. They should not be allowed to call my trip weather related and absolve themselves of responsibility for the iregular ops if weather has nothing to do with my specific flight being cancelled. IMO, of course.
I'm sure there is weather somewhere every day of the year that they could, with 6 degrees of separation, connect back to why my flight is cancelled.
I would even agree with the weather related cancel completely if the plane coming to MDT was coming from a weather related destination. But that does not appear to me to be the case.
I guess with 2 million miles under my belt I am just sick of airlines using the weather issue whenever they can, and stretching it like this. AA is not the only offender. I actually left Delta 6 years ago because of their constant abuse of this. I'm sure Ma and Pa Kettle swallow it hook line and sinker, but color me cynical.
