Open seating still has poaching issues, belive it or not. Get up to use the lav, come back and someone took it upon themselves to switch. But forget those infrequent instances...open seating has simply moved the problem into the terminal: seat-poaching is replaced by line jumping.
It also has people demanding swaps with a basic "get out I am going to sit there" attitude without any BP to back it up.
And it has a host of all other manner of issues, not the least of which is "seat saving"...come on, you at WN know how it goes. Party of 6, one buys EBCI, holds the entire exit row for his high C buddies, depriving people who paid more and are lower in the boarding order of better choices..backed by FA's who are mandated to let pax sort it out for themselves.
