I am currently working in Pittsburgh and have been since April. I am here every week. I stayed at the Westin for the first month. The hotel is dirty and the service is very poor. I have since been staying at the Sheraton. I have had nothing but great service. They are all very friendly and service oriented. They take the Sheraton Promise very seriously. As for location, there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance at Station Square. And, if you want to go to one in town, the shuttle service will be more than happy to take you there. So, to me there is not even a discussion - Sheraton is it.
