I am at Wynham Bristol Place right now on a $99 CDN rate booked 7 days in advance. I checked last night on the net and it was up to $119 for tonight possibly due to the low travel season right now. All the local SPG’s were a little (or a lot) out of my range.

I checked into it just on a whim last week and scored this great rate. I signed up for By-Request as well because of the posts on FT way back.

So I have been here 90 min and I’m awed by the service.

Check in

Stella greets me with a great smile and a great big Hellooo. I give her my name and she says Yes Mr XXXX, you are a By Request member and we have been expecting you (I checked in at 2:00pm – 1 hour early). We have your room ready and Reggie is just upstairs right now putting your welcome amenities in your room .

1 Can of Nestea Ice Tea
1 Bottle of Water
2 Bags of Peanut M&M’s

Welcome Note

Welcomed me personally to their hotel by name, provided hand written details of the By Request program, a By-Request card with my # on it. I just signed up so no card yet - but I have one now! Finally Reggie signed it personally as the By-Request Manager

Room

I forgot to ask about an Airport facing room so I phone down as I was looking at another hotel. Regiie said he would be up in 1 minute with another room. It was under 1 minute and he was there. Mr. XXXX we are moving you to our Executive Floor with a corner room and Airport View from the 14th Floor.

Both rooms have 2 phones with one cordless phone with 2 phone lines.

Bathroom amenities are called Golden Door and very nice indeed.


Room Service

They answer with how can we help you Mr XXXX. So I ordered a Chicken Club with bacon, avocado, bacon and cheese. I don’t even have chicken at home that size. $10.95 + $2.00 delivery. 12 minutes later I get a call asking if it is ok to bring my lunch up. Huh!


That’s the first 90 minutes and every single person I dealt with was in a great mood and asked if there was anything else they could do to make my stay more enjoyable.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love Starwood and will be in yet another 2 next week in BC. I just think that if you are in YYZ and find the SPG properties expensive check the Wyndham site. This hotel is literally 1.5 blocks from the Airport entrance. I’m afraid that I fell asleep on the bed upon arrival and it’s a dream. Off to visit Mom tonight as she lives only 30 min. form here and she would kill me if I didn’t go when in town. I’m just a little sad about having to leave the hotel for a change but hey its for Mom right
