Just got the AMEX Platinum in Germany and find the perks to be pretty good (especially compared to the LH Gold + Business package that I've had up to now because of the rental car collision coverage -- cost of LH Gold card €95 per year).
AMEX Platinum Cost €500 annual fee (through recommendation from fellow vielfliegertreff member in Germany, received waiver of Registration fee (€250) + 30,000 MR.
Full liability (€1,000,000 for U.S., €750,000 elsewhere) + collision insurance CDW (€75,000) on rental cars. (can find no exclusion for Israel, Italy or others as found in the U.S. AMEX platinum IIRC)
International medical coverage (away from home) up to total of 240 days per year, max. 120 days in one trip (Plat. card does not have to have been used for payment of trip) unlimited amount of coverage -- including all medical costs.
Trip cancellation and/or interruption - €6,000
Luggage arrival later than 4 hrs. -- €400 pp, later than 48 hours -- additional €400 pp
Luggage (€3,000 per trip), cash & Travel documents (€750)
Priority Pass for card member and additional card holder.
plus lots more (including travel-accident, private liability, vehicle assistance.
I'm pretty happy -- now, if only the Priority Pass would arrive before we leave for Buenos Aires in 2 weeks!
