I agree with that observation. I flew them only on Swissair and only in First Class. They were delightful in every way from a passenger perspective, and equalled anything else of the era. Today I'd rather be on EK or SQ A380 suites, but at the time the SR MD11 was a great customer experience.

Nothing bad about the MD11 had anything to do with cabin comfort. It was all about safety, reliability and ease of handling emergencies and unusual situations. It was those that made it a poor aircraft.
