While in Rome (at the Excelsior) I asked for a box to be mailed home to me (at my expense - provided my VISA number and tipped the concierge very well). Never happened. All of my pictures, souvenirs from Switzerland, and some other things never made it home. (The reason I asked them to mail it was because I was still travelling throughout Europe for another 5 weeks). I agree - just tell me that you're not going to be able to send me my things. I'll find somewhere else.
