I have received conflicting information on whether or not I need an International DLto rent a car in Italy. AAA is saying that the rules have changed and we need to have this to rent a car (renting in Venice to drive to Cortina). I am not sure if this is accurate or a money maker for them and would appreciate input. I went ahead a got mine (just in case) but not sure if I should encourage the rest of the drivers in my group.
