The one thing HHonors has going for it over SPG is that it's easier to get points from credit cards. $50K of double miles charges on a DL Amex will get you 6 nights at a top-end Hilton property (if you can avoid the capacity controls & blackout dates) - not so with $50K on a Starwood Amex.
