HHonors offers many different options for redemption which places them a notch above Starwood in this area. Unfortunately, redeeming HHonors points for hotel stays can sometimes be a challenge. They have capacity controls and blackout dates, unlike Starwood. I've never had a problem redeeming Starpoints for Hotel stays, but Hilton can be a joke at times. Although I use to be a big Starwood fan, I've been staying less and less at Starwoods in favor of Hilton Garden Inns. I had two bad experiences with Starwood lately--one in Maui and one with Customer Service.
