I played that role a few years ago. I was only a Premier Associate on UA, and was going with five people from my high school to MSY. I got all of the people free bags, and one of them got E+. We were only on TED. If we had been on mainline, I wonder what would have happened if I got the upgrade.
When I did study-abroad last spring break, I flew on UA in C to LHR, while the rest of the group flew DL in Y. I never told them I flew in C. <wink>
