I know Karim denied wanting to hack into BA's system for terrorism purposes, but could he have? It's certainly dangerous if this chap could gain access to passenger manifests and seek some high-profile targets. Or could he have gained access to low-level material such as hotels around the world where crew stay, or any security procedures they have to go through?
Presumably, though, BA has a robust system in place with proper access levels and a monitoring system for suspicious activity.
All system access is closely regulated, so it would not be a case of someone joining BA and then getting automatically access to the check in system. All system access goes through an approval process.
