Good point!

But remember this can also happen in Y. Try to sit in the center section, not by the window (good idea, O2 mask aside). Do not hold me to this but generally, there are two extra masks for a block of 4 (or more) seats across, just one extra for groups of 3 seats.

In C, with two seats together, there is usually just one mask, so two people, each with a lap baby, can't sit there. You can try to find out the Real Story but good luck!

Sitting across the aisle in any class could solve this problem but that may not be the ideal seating arrangement for your family. Also if the flight isn't full, this becomes a moot point if there are extra seats nearby.

This is also for the entire flight, not just for take-off and landing since the O2 masks could be needed at any point. I've had to reseat two-lap-baby families several times. It's not fun so really try to avoid it...
