Don't blame it on the airport while other carriers managed to have better on-time rating with flights departing at around CX's departure times.

Last time I flew LAX-NRT, the captain mentioned something about flow control and how the flight must arrive within a certain window. Maybe that's why NRT flights are very often on-time, while other flights have no incentive to. Also, redeye long-hauls have less risk of misconnected passengers.
