I booked a free weekend at the Diplomat Country Club and Spa in June and I was looking for any tips on the best way to get an upgrade to a larger room or a suite. I am a starwood plat. Are upgrades given out at check-in or is there something I can do before then?

Are room upgrades even given out for free stays? Thanks for any help.
