Thanks venk.
1) is already done. The database automatically updates your status in every proprietary database we have once your last qualifying stay or nights are posted to your account. Depending on the timing this can take up to an additional 24 hours, but certainly no more than that.
2) really should not be necessary because 1) is already in place to do this automatically.
3) really should not be necessary because 1) is already in place to do this automatically.
Is there an echo on this board?
I'm sorry if you experienced any difficulties at check-in follwing your first stay after becoming Platinum. 99.9 % of the time there are no problems with these transitions, so while I apologize for your particular inconvenience, I don't think that any additional changes are on the horizon regarding the transition process.
Most likely what you experienced at check-in was a hiccup that could have been prevented if the hotel had simply refreshed your reservation. It sounds as if they were working with old information when you arrived. This is preventable two ways that I know of 1) properly prepare for elite member arrivals and 2) go online to confirm whatever the member may say is true regarding their status. Either way, I'll let the hotel coordinators we had a problem.
