One does wonder why all the runways need to be so extremely close to the terminals.

When flying into IAH I always feel we're taxi-ing longer to the terminal then at AMS when towards/from the Polderbaan (18R/36L) or even Zwanenburgbaan (18C/36C) when taking the long-way-round there...
