Two weeks ago I sold my house in France after 26 years. My spouse and I have six bags, each pre-weighed at 32kg; so we were within our allowance and no excess baggage charges were applied. We brought:
1) a 15 kg marble mortar and pestle;
2) a Jura Capresso machine;
3) a sliver service;
4) a china service;
5) Three Persian Q'om carpets each roughly 2mtx3mt (not cooking, but certainly adds to the ambiance)
6) a few bottles of my preferred pastis, Henri Bardouin (hard to find there, much less in Brazil.
Upon clearing customs in Rio de janeiro the agent barely glanced at these huge and obviously heavy bags. Everything arrived with zero breakage.
