For foodstuffs, I usually stock up on giant tins of tuna packed in olive oil in Italy, tins of illy (they cost less than half there) baby eels in olive oil from Spain and travel packets of hot chocolate from France.
I also look for terracotta cookpots and pretty tiles in Spain, fancy soap dishes as well as their awesome soaps in Southern France, and all sorts of things in Italy depending on my current food/kitchen obsession.
