Although I know that a couple of our fellow FTers have actually won by bidding on offandaway, I am becoming very wary of things always being won "fairly". I've regularly been following NYC bidding for several weeks, and find it -- shall we say -- a bit strange, that the same person, Renate M., won 2 hotel stays in NYC within a few days for ridiculously low sums. Sure, it's possible, just not highly likely. Once was for a total bid of around $19 and the other, IIRC at around $68. Is it only me that finds this improbable?

I guess I've been lucky that I've only lost a total of $20, but I think I'll call it quits. The owners of the site must be making out like bandits. Just think it through -- the NY hotels are often getting 2,000 bids = $2,000 start money (the unsuccessful ones) plus the winner's payment as well. I'm curious as to the payment/cut situation between O&A and the hotel, but I guess that will remain their secret.
