I am interested in applying for the first time for the SPG AMEX.

The current offer I see is the - "Earn up to 25,000 Starpoints:
Receive 10,000 Starpoints after your first purchase and an additional 15,000 Starpoints when you spend $15,000 in 6 months"

Based on past offers, is this a good one, or a "normal" offer?
Should I apply now, or wait for any other offers?

My main purpose is to take advantage of the bonus conversion to American Airlines Miles. $15,000 in 6 months will be a little hard to do, but not impossible.
