If you have never been to Oahu before I would rent a car for a day or two. You can do a trip around the island in one day and maybe another day do sightseeing such as the USS Arizona Memorial, Hananuma Bay (sp), or a hike to Diamond Head.

After that I would turn in the car because everything is conveniently located mostly within walking distance.
