There's a tower (to be avoided) and you're right - the historic wing is the place to be - but no lounge. As a Luxury Collection hotel, there seem to be fewer and fewer lounges in any LH hotel I've been in lately.
When I was there it was get up-drink-go to beach-drink-go to lunch-drink-go back to beach-drink-go to room-fall down-sleep-get up-drink-have dinner(w/Mai-Tais)-go out phase. It was a Hawaii specific thing and I never drove but as a consequence, I never looked for the gym. There's a nice enough pool and a roped-off section of Waikiki for RHH guests only, aka "the rich kids sandbox" where the hotel beachboys will get you drinks, etc.
Every room and suite we've been in had a fridge but this may have changed ('s been two years)
The best rooms are the oceanfront suites with a terrace - like something out of another era - although the whole hotel gives you that feeling.
Enjoy yourselves. It's the only place I'll stay in Honolulu.
