1.You have gold status. Not plat but if your reserve the room the 1st nite, and then use pts for the rest you might get lucky. Its all about space available. If you had plat you would have plat you would have better shot


2. I am confused as you said points for upgrades. Points for the room and pts for upgrade are 2 different things. Did you get refused after using pts for upgrade?

3. Not sure if this is what you meant but someone who is paying full price for the room type u want deserves it. Gold upgrades are on a space avialable basis at checkin. Basically you want to reserve that room without waiting to see if their space available but not paying the rate necessary or the upgrade in pts.

**4** How does one book nicer room type then change it to points at checkin? I made considering pts are for standard award does any other flyer talker do this scheme?

Points are for standard rooms only. So this is away aorund the system. I think it is shady if you are doing it at checkin or after checkin. Plus u mentioned u have done it b4 at checkin. What do u say?
