I'd like to apologize to the Delta employees who had to deal with this passenger (assuming female). It seems that since she is from Newport Beach that she thinks the sun should always shine on her. Seems she doesn't handle adversity very well. Please understand Delta employees that she is the anomaly. Most of us understand you don't control the weather. Most of us know you're just doing your job. Most of us know that many passengers DON'T want their bags back in such a circumstance and so we plan ahead.
Clearly the cops were called for good reason (reasons that the OP no doubt leaves out of her "horrifying" tale) -I just think it's too bad they didn't throw the OP in jail - could have done her some good and provided a free place to stay.
OP there were perhaps 100 other people on the flight. You should take a look at yourself and try to figure out why you were the only one who the cops had to come chat with. They were all inconvenienced in the same way, but clearly just handled it more maturely.
