This is a great, argument, Vuelos! As the OP did not get charged for a specific service (checked baggage), he is not entitled to that service. ^

I'll remember this each time I read yet-another FT rant about how a kettle got better service than the Plat/Diamond/Six Million Miler/FTer, e.g.:

• You weren't charged for the yellow priority tags, so it is unreasonable for you to expect your luggage to come out first.
  
• You weren't charged for your drinks, so it is unreasonable for you to expect pre-flight drink service.
  
• You didn't pay a special banana-fee, so it is unreasonable for you to complain about the banana-bandit.
