QF has actively resisted having JQ join Oneworld up to now, so an interesting change in strategy if true. Perhaps an indication that JQ will have a bigger part of QF's longhaul network than originally expected; presumably all of the 787s will be used for longhaul routes to Europe and Asia rather than displacing A330s (bad news for QF's 767 fleet which will have to last that much longer, but QF seems to be already resigned to that). The past year has seen a huge increase in LCC business in Australia per gov't stats, and drop in QF/JQ market share, so growing JQ more aggressively for long-haul is maybe essential. But a huge change for JQ, which becomes a "full service LCC". Wonder if OW lounge access rules will change for "LCC associates"?
