If you really want to keep plat, just keep looking for the $49/59 deals that keep coming up. Just book one night every other night and you will have Plat in no time.

And... If you dont want to stay in the room, book the room, go home and sleep, show up for the sometimes free morning breakfast and check out.

Of course I have not done this for two reasons, 1) I get Plat via AMEX Cent and 2) I have enough stays with normal trips that I take during the year to earn plat.
