I'm currently in Australia, so I won't be on the YYC-SYD flight, but will wanting to get on the SYD-YYC flight. If I call air canada, will they give me some kind refund/credit for not using the YYC-SYD flight? Or is it pretty much just a lost cause. I'm also assuming they wouldn't give me any points for missing that YYC-SYD flight...

Thanks!
I think that if you don't use the first leg of your trip the whole ticket is cancelled so you would have been better off doing SYD-YYC-SYD and skipping the last leg... If I'm understanding you correctly.
