On a redemption from EZE to LHR, will BA permit a routing via the U.S. (utilizing AA or LA ex-EZE), or would such a routing require two awards? (I know that AA does not permit a transit via North America when redeeming AA miles for a South America to Europe award.)
I am virtually certain it requires two awards, but for example in J (one way) that would be 40K + 50K = 90K instead of 70K straight from EZE to Europe, and would have no limitations about where in North America you transit (LAX, SFO, etc. apart from the normal MIA or JFK). Not a bad deal if there's somewhere you want to go in North America that isn't exactly on the way - and it means you can pick just about anywhere out of the US that BA would have availability to London.
