When I was at MIA for the FL driveout, I saw at least one car that had TN plates. That in and of itself wouldn't be strange. What is strange is that this car was apparently never driven. It looks like it was purchased and registered in TN, but immediately shipped to Miami, or purchased in Miami but given TN plates.
A while ago, I mentioned that an Avis Malibu a family member was given had NY plates and something like 35 miles, but the clerk said the car's first rental had been one-way out of Newark Airport. Spades replied that, for instance, a lot of cars are processed in Atlanta on behalf of TN, so the brand new car will be first rented in Atlanta with TN plates. Theoretically that car could go one-way to somewhere completely different, never having actually seen it's "home" state. If it does, it would only be a coincidence.
