Attempting to redeem miles from Argentina
I am a Gold member with 500k miles, 4,000 tier points and 2 Gold upgrades for Two, earned flying mostly EZE-LHR-EZE on Business or First. Having been unsuccessful in redeeming them on previous specific attempts in the past, I decided to check the reward availability calendar for EZE-LHR-EZE Business or First for the next 11 months (BA don't have any other destination from EZE), finding that for the return LHR-EZE there are a grand total of 7 (seven) days available. Upon trying to couple with the outbound EZE-LHR (i.e. a normal 10-15 day stay), I found that in practice this reduced the availability to 2 (two) possible return flights over the entire 11 month period.
Wrote to Exec Club seeking assistance/tips (case reference: 8826986), but was merely fobbed off by one [snip] of "Customer Services" with a standard "very sorry, you should try to book outside peak periods" reply.
Any suggestions as to how to use the Upgrades before they expire &/or redeem the miles?
