The W is located on top of the Kowloon Airport Express train station, also a subway station and a new upscale shopping center with a range of restaurants. This could be a good compromise for you if it's not too expensive for the date you'll be transitting HKG. Many of the rooms have water views, although not of "the" skyline, and the year-round rooftop pool has even better views.
