Verizon Wireless Mobile Brandband overage charges
Just got my Verizon Wireless bill for my mobile broadband devices. One of them was under the 10G for $80/month and the other device had overage.
The device that had overage just simply states the overage and charges me for it, however, when I go to the data usage details where I am supposed to see a break down of the data consumption, it simply states connection times and in the "Data Usage" field, it is blank.
When I called Verizon Wireless to inquire, I was told that they send emails to customers to alert them about their usage. I did get the emails, but emails just tell you your percentage of your allowance you have used and the last email you get is an email stating you have exceeded your monthly allowance. After that, you just check your usage through the Verizon Connection Manager or by logging on to your account online.
With AT&T mobile broadband service, you would get an itemized list of how you accrued your data use for the billing cycle. This way you could actually have some way of disputing the usage charges. The reason I am not with AT&T for mobile broadband is because they currently only have a 5G maximum plan, whereas, Verizon Wireless has the 10G plan.
If anyone else has a Verizon Wireless mobile broadband contract account, could you look at the "Data Usage" field under usage details and see if the fields are blank? I just can't believe they can submit a bill and just state your total overage without providing you an itemized list of how you accrued that overage. How can the consumer protect themselves from a company which arbitrarily charges data usage if you have no way to cross reference an itemized list?
