When did they inform you that 50k FF miles would requal you for 2011? It doesn't sound you're talking about the offers that went out in July 2010.

GS always states the criteria changes from year to year

From 2010 requal (sent in 2009)
The criteria to achieve Global Services status is not published for competitive reasons and, because it is based on the United flight activity of the top percent of Mileage PlusŪ members, it can vary from year to year.
From 2011 requal (sent in 2010)
As you may be aware, qualification requirements for the Global Services program vary from year to year.


If the 12k requal offer can't be met the spend pattern doesn't meet GS.
