Isn't there a rule about having to eat the food in the dining area? If not, there should be.
I was at a Springhill Suites this past weekend, and they actually provided small carry-out bags to help people that wanted to take the food with them. I also remember reading somewhere (I think on their website) that they provide items that can be quickly grabbed for those on the run who don't have time to stay and eat breakfast. So, it seems they don't have a problem with removing food from the dining area, and to some degree, are encouraging it. I did not see anyone taking advantage of this while I was there, although I'm sure it happens.
