Bump...

We stayed at the FS Atlanta in November. Nice upgrade (then even nicer upgrade to a premium suite for our last day of a 3 day trip due to problems with original room - long story involving too many plumbers ). Breakfast in restaurant or room. $100 spa credit - which I used to get a great in-room massage (that masseuse looked like she played for the NFL - and had great strong hands). FWIW - it's nice to use that spa credit to upgrade to a massage in room instead of at the spa at a hotel. Unless the massage "room" is outside in a beautiful warm location in Hawaii. When it's 30 degrees in Atlanta - I like to kick up the heat in the room - pour myself a nice drink before at 5 pm - and not worry about doing anything other than putting on my bathrobe after. BTW - we had a buy 2 nights - get 1 free - and the hotel wound up charging us only for 1 night (we didn't ask - they just did it). We've stayed at this hotel a fair number of times before - and - like I said - we dealt with a *lot* of plumbers. Anyway - the hotel did right by us IMO in terms of dealing with problems. We'll be back.

Will be in Miami next month. Same deal with breakfast and room upgrade. Lunch for 2 (which is nice - because this is a business trip and we'll take our accountant to lunch - we stay at the FS in Miami because his office is close to the hotel). Note that I was also able to get stay 2 nights - get 1 free there (although I booked this trip about 2 months ago - don't know what's available now). For those of you who are up north and frozen - we're only partially frozen here in north Florida (this has been a bad winter) - might be a nice good luxury/value weekend getaway.

Have a reservation in NYC in May - Memorial Day weekend (my husband's birthday). Room rates are higher than they were a couple of years ago. And I was surprised to see that - as of today - breakfast there is in the restaurant only (no room service like our last trip there). No room upgrade if available (like on our last trip). Spa credit of $100. So are the perks changing in general - or is this something specific to NYC (investment bank partners no longer have to stay in the local Motel 6 because they got TARP funds - financial markets have been doing well - so maybe the hotels in NYC - and other places - are too - and they're cutting back on the perks). My agent (who has always done pretty good by us) says we'll check again closer to the date our trip is scheduled - but I wonder if anyone else is running into this. Robyn

P.S. Nice dealing with travel issues and posting here again. I had 3 surgeries last year - 2 minor - 1 medium - and the trip to Atlanta was our only trip the whole year.
