I like your theory and analysis, littlevoices. However, if diamond club ever does get around to giving you what you want, then you'll probably find that bmi no longer flies to where you want, when you want

Ultimately the reason why I'm flying bmi less is because they no longer fly (or fly as frequently) to the places where I need to go. You know, really dull, boring places* like CDG, AMS, MAD, LBA and JER (and where there is no *A option either). And in the case of GLA and EDI, there's the lure of LCY and even LGW, at least as option should all hell be breaking loose at LHR (e.g. a spot of fog in the morning causing knock-on delays for the rest of the day - BA's LHR flight may be delayed longer than bmi's, but at least I have the option of two other airports/flights to get me home)

Funnily enough, not yet had reason to fly to Khartoum or Tblisi in my line of work

*NB my business travel is going to BA and other full service carriers, not to LCCs, so, Wolfie, please don't use that excuse...
