1) Since i'm overnighting in PDX can I have them check my bag to PDX so i can collect it and bring it to my hotel? I also don't want to risk it getting lost with the long connection

2) Since PDX-SEA-BOS is on two different itins, can i check the bag all the way through to BOS or do i have to collect it in SEA and re-check it to BOS?
No. 2 will work - just present the agent with your itin... and they'll check it thru.

No. 1 not certain, especially since its handled by DL in HNL... how long is your 'connection' in PDX... by default it'll be checked thru, but you should be able to short-check it, but haven't tried from the islands.
