As a family who almost always surfs on vacation, usually staying at SW properties, I'd be happy to help.. But I need a few specifics.. Exactly what kind of surf experience are you looking for? Are you hauling your own boards, looking for great, massive surf? Or are you looking for for rentals, lessons, and ridable waves? Almost any of the Hawaii properties have something ridable on or near property, it mostly depends on what else you are looking for.. Let me know more specifics and I'd be happy to direct you further.. There are plenty of properties further than Hawaii that fit the bill as well...
BTW, we were in NC at an all-girl surf contest and our "party" was taking over a theater on opening night of Blue Crush.. LOL! What a riot!! Imagine 175 mostly teen surfer girls in that theater!! Someday I will see it again and will actually be able to hear the dialogue!!

Edited to add: We have actually surfed from six of the SW Hawaii properties, and have done clinics/camps at many of the islands' beaches.. There are some really great surf schools in HI and I'd be happy to direct you to some!

Jeez... I leave town for a month and all hell breaks loose!
