Ah sorry missed that nugget. Yes both were in my name.
The main issue with 4 people travelling on 2 different PNRs is that you won't be able to manage seating if only one of the 4 has status.
If you are all in the same HHA then it will manage the miles available to you across the 4 accounts so you won't end up short of miles or anything like that.
