I wrote to 1Kvoice about why I got the $999 offer and not the $499 one, and was surprised that I didn't receive the same canned email that everyone else got who did the same. Instead they wrote back saying I would be receiving an email shortly with options for discounts on a future United flight as their way of saying sorry you didn't get the $499 offer.
A few minutes later I received the email which offered:
1. 9,000 award miles
2. $200 e-cert for U.S. flight
3. 10% e-cert for any flight
I was a little surprised and somewhat happy that at least I got something!
First, I'm really glad that your letter got a result. That is a significant "adjustment" you were given, which is fantastic. I will give it a try, particularly since virtually all of my flying is in paid C or full fare Y (B or Y fares) on international routes.
My expectations are modest, however, as it seems they should be!
