LNF=lowest night fare. Pretty much, if you can find a lower rate on a competing site, ie orbitz, then you get the lower rate and an additional 25% off.
Again, I'm not asking about finding a lower rate on a competing site, but only booking directly on Marriott.com with a rate code.

Somewhat the opposite of my question. Although they say these aren't publicly available, I believe I've always gotten both points and nights credit for stays at the AAA rate booked on Marriott.com, and I've never asked for LNF to do so.

Again, this highlights my question. First, it says nothing about any rate code. Second, I'm not finding a lower rate anywhere else. If I book the room on the Marriott web site in the first place, but the price is cheaper than the rack rate because I put in a rate code, or the rate code is put in by Marriott itself (I clicked on an offer) or by some third-party site I clicked on which sent me to Marriott, do I need to bother with LNF? Or am I guaranteed that I will get nights and points credit because I used Marriott.com?

Again, I appreciate the efforts, but please, an answer from MARRIOTT?
