The hotel is the "Orchid Mauna Lani" on the big island.

I just spent my last free weekend there. From what I have read in this forum, it is a popular place.

It is a very nice hotel...probably one of the nicest I have ever stayed at. My one complaint is that the beach is very small. It is great for kids (protected and shallow)...just not great for me.

Also, snorkeling visibility was terrible because of fresh water (from I don't know where) clouding the water when it mixed with the sea water. There is also some construction behind the beach that diminishes (temporarily) from the beach's appeal.
