Only 2 MR points per GBP spent in another currency. If you factor in the currency conversion, it's probably not that great, but if you only have cards with less than brilliant currency exchange, it's not too bad - particularly if you can combine train, airline, or hotel spend and get 3 points per pound.
Actually for me, a benefit is NOT having to inform the card issuer when I travel overseas before using the card. I realise UK card issuers do that a security measure, but I've had advance notice given on my MBNA, HSBC and Barclays cards ignored anyway and found them declined on valid spend.
