Also, FYI. . . I just checked itasoftware. . . it lists 6 options for the return, (3 via DFW, 3 via ORD). Only 2 show up quickly on AA.com, whereas ita says there are seats on all 6. Layovers for 2/6 are <4 hours and appear readily on AA.com, but layovers for the remainder are >4 hours and not presented on AA.com, so perhaps this is also part of the issue.
