I generally choose the seafood meal which could be one of the meals already offered, but with a slightly different side dish. However if you choose the Muslim meal, you'll get it at the same time as the others, as the food offered should already be Halal.

Once you finish your food you can use the lavatory before everyone starts to queue up for it. So it's a double plus


i used to do this, but recently the standard meals have been better so i stopped, also, many people on this forum claim that pre-selecting a meal harms your chances of a free upgrade. like for example, they seem to just serve all the special meal orders a rubbish cucumber and lettuce sandwich (the vege option) even if your special meal isnt a vege option for the "light snack" meal on flights while others get a chicken or tuna sandwich.
