That is what the rules say, but in practice you can change everybody on the PNR for free (CO Insider also confirmed in another post). I have done it more than once for my wife and myself. In fact, it presents an interesting problem at times. Do I split the PNR 5 days out to go for an upgrade on one seat, or do I leave the PNR together because I might want to SDC for free?
