I was just approved with less than a $100K income (I've also had the SkyMiles Gold Card for about 2 years with a perfect payment record). I didn't get the automatic approval online, but they emailed me a few hours later.
This could not have come at a better time- I'm booking a RTW trip soon and with barely 180k miles, this will let me sit in business rather than coach!
