Absolutely. I agree that there are more Platinums than suites. This is also the case at the Westin across the street.
However, suites are a large reason why I choose to keep my SPG Platinum status.
Truth is that there are equally good SPG properties in Bangkok where my upgrade percentage is 100% (providing I book at least 3 or 4 days in advance). All of these properties are cheaper than the SGS too.
So, for that reason, me and the suite lovers will choose the Royal Orchid Sheraton, Plaza Athenee, and Le Meridien everytime. You all should be happy. Different strokes for different folks.
